I use special quality nutritional therapy vitamins and minerals to ensure you get maximum value from your treatment. Details are given below together with answers to frequently asked questions. If you are concerned at any time about your treatment please call the Clinic and ask that I give you a call back. See also the information on Repeat Perscriptions.
Why do you recommend particular suppliers?
Nutritional therapists have detailed information on the actual constituents that are in a ‘vitamin pill’. Unfortunately some products on the market which are sold as, say, 500mg don’t actually contain 500mg of the ingredient you need but have a much smaller amount which is bulked up with a cheap filler. Sometimes these fillers themselves can cause unwanted affects on the body which you would not be able to detect. Although nutritional formula supplied for professionals are more expensive you are guaranteed that we know exactly what is in each capsule and therefore can be sure that the treatment you are receiving is at the dosage, and in the chemical form, that works best.
Why so many tablets?
If you are receiving nutritional treatment it is important that the amount you are receiving can work at a ‘therapeutic’ level and bring about changes required for your body to function properly. Unfortunately the amount in single tablets is so tiny that it wouldn’t really make any difference. Single ‘multi-vitamins’ available from shops do not contain sufficient quantities to bring about change where something is not working as well as it should. Secondly we try to keep the number of different pots you have to have to a reasonable level. These tablets contain multiple ingredients in each one so you need to take a larger number of one type of tablet to get the amounts to the right levels. Finally this mixture of other ingredients has been specially calculated so that not only does each capsule have all the things required to work together optimally (called co-factors), but each capsule has exactly the right proportions of each. This way, whatever dosage you take you can be confident that everything is balanced together without you having to worry about it.
Do I have to take these for ever?
Whilst you are undergoing treatment the formula you will be prescribed will vary depending on where treatment is being targeted. Once therapy can be discontinued you will be prescribed a maintenance dose.
These are quite expensive – can’t I just buy something cheaper from the shops?
As mentioned above it can be difficult to identify in the shops the difference between a good product and one that is not so good. Overall it is better to take a smaller amount of a quality product if necessary, rather than lots of cheaper things. Let me know if you are taking less than prescribed so that I can take this into consideration when devising your next prescription.
Will the tablets make me feel ill?
The reason behind anyone having health problems is ultimately that the cells in the body are not working as well as they should. This usually starts out because of toxins entering the cells. These toxins may have been taken in through food, drink or ‘drugs’, absorbed through the skin, or inhaled from the air. They may also have been created by the body as a by-product of a natural process but the body has been unable to detoxify and excrete them. As we start to empty the cells of these toxins and help them to return to proper function we will have to move these toxins out of your body. It is inevitable that sometimes this may cause some discomfort.
If you feel nauseous, have an upset stomach or headaches then stop taking the tablets for a couple of days and then start again at a lower level, working back up to the level you were at before over a few days. If the problem comes back then stop taking all prescription items again and call the Clinic and ask for me to call you to discuss. If at any time you are seriously worried about your health, or suspect that your symptoms are related to some other problem, then call your local Doctor or pharmacist.
